SPONSORED WALK IN AID OF OUR APOSTOLATE IN JAMAICA AND GRENADA (ST MARTIN’S MISSIONS FUND), 13.06.2026
This sponsored walk is in aid of our missions in Jamaica and Grenada, where our friars are working hard in both Jamaica and Grenada to build up the local Church. They have a special focus on young people and education. However, our friars on these islands are reliant on funding from the UK. Walkers will begin from St Albert’s at 12.30pm on Saturday 13th June (after Mass).

THE ROUTE
TIMINGS ARE BASED ON ONE PERSON WALKING ALONE. A GROUP WILL BE SLOWER.
START
Leave from St Albert’s. Cross the Meadows to Bruntsfield and go down Leamington Terrace, then cross the canal and turn left. 22 minutes walking. Turn right into Gibson Terrace, then left into Dundee Street. Cross the road at the traffic lights to access Telfer Subway, 31 minutes walking.
Cross the Western Approach Road and then turn left into Dalry Community Park. Exit from the park unto Dalry Road. Cross over and turn left and then right into Murieston Crescent. Continue on Murieston Crescent, going under a bridge and turn right unto Russell Road. Pass under a railway bridge and turn left to access the Roseburn Path (short climb). Walk along the path When you across the bridge over Roseburn Terrace, you have walked 51 minutes, and the distance walked from St Albert’s is 3.87 km.
Walk along the Roseburn Path and stop at Craigleith Retail Park which is to the right. You will have been walking for 1 hour, 11 minutes. The distance walked from St Albert’s is 5.23km. REST
The pathway forks into two. Follow the Telford Path to right. Cross a red metal bridge over Ferry Road. After Ferry Road you walk under several bridges. After walking under Clark Road Bridge you will come to a junction with Trinity Path to the left. You have walked for 1 hour, 54 minutes. The distance walked from St Albert’s is 8.72km. Continue along Trinity Path to reach the sea at Trinity Crescent. Cross the road and turn right. Walk along Starbucks Road to arrive at Newhaven Harbour. You have walked for 2 hours 51 minutes and the distance walked from St Albert’s is 10.5 km. The tram is just a few minutes walk from the harbour.
